My father started researching his family tree in the late 1990’s. I decided to put some of the information online, and as a result have been able to make contact with others who were researching in the same area. This is all “work in progress” and any further information or corrections are always welcome.

Norman Banting worked in his father’s garage after doing National Service, then joined the Rootes Motor Group where he had served an apprenticeship. He joined the Civil Service in 1963 where he maintained and later inspected motor vehicles until retirement in 1992.
